Product Description:
The description is pretty much as the sales pitch above. This is aimed at the guy who turns up to the car show and wants to quickly top up their shine to look the best.
Instructions:
From the Chemical Guys website:
1. When using in very hot direct sunlight always mist on towel not surface, this will eliminate a hot surface from drying the product before you have an opportunity to even touch it with a towel.
2. Simply mist on towel or surface.
3. For the best results, use a microfiber towels to attract dust and minimize the risk of scratching.
4. Do not use the same towel on your paint and glass that you have used on your wheels, wipe off with clean towel or microfiber towel.
5. Mist after washing, while drying or anytime to for a fast dry with a superior shine.
6. Excellent when sprayed on towel and used to remove creme or paste waxes that have hardened.
7. Superior surface shine when used as a final cleaner to remove smudges or smears left behind from waxing or sealing.
Application:
This is my latest purchase and from what I have seen it has been given great reviews. I wanted to try it so I had to hunt around for somebody who stocked it. I eventually got my bottle from Poland would you believe? As I write this I notice some UK websites are starting to stock it now.
This is a synthetic liquid that smells great like berries or grape. The first thing I noticed was the slim bottle which sits nice in your hand. The trigger is a reassuring pressure to a fine mist, twist to seal off again. This fine mist can be blown about in any breezy area as most do. The trigger does not leak after a number of squirts which some cheaper products can. The liquid is just like water and dead simple to wipe on. The product will evaporate in hotter weather on not panels, hence the spray on the cloth reference above.
I have sprayed this on everything and will remove most light dirt, such as road dust etc. I had a little tree sap on my paint, but didn’t get time to clay bar it off, so I was not expecting miracles to be honest. I sprayed a generous amount on those areas and gently wiped it all straight off. Brilliant result there, a few road bugs on the front valance were also removed with ease. I had some left over hardened wax on the rear quarter extension gap, again this product removed the left over wax with ease.
Removing:
A simple change of micro fiber cloth to buff to shine. The product didn’t drag and removed completely. After a few wipes of the cloth turn over to a fresh part and continue. No hard work, just like water that evaporates quickly. No hard rubbing just minor pressure move the cloth over the paint surface.
Results:
Absolutely amazing. The deep gloss claim didn’t make much difference to the deep shine I already had on the car if I am honest. Treating half the hood at a time showed a more even reflection on the Chem Guys product side. I already had a very deep shine from the wax on the car, so this was going to be difficult to improve on, but it did. More application to the number plate I did notice an improvement to the shine. Confidence in the product now means I buzzed over the car in a matter of minutes, much less time than any other detailer I have used so far.
I tried the product on my original Mustang corral which was dull and not much shine. Before application on the left, after to the right.
It’s difficult to see from a photo, but there is a difference, I sprayed the top of the corral on the left for a comparison. You can see the reflection is a little crisper on the left showing the LEDs above it.
The best part was that this product did not leave any smears or streaks on the car what so ever anywhere, none! This formula worked well with the previous Megs wax layers and left a brilliant smooth and oil like, polished glass feel to the paint, but it was dry. To say there was a silky smooth finish does not do the product justice, it’s much more than that. I didn’t see any finger prints after touching the surface either.
After a full day in the sun this product still looked great and felt great. I couldn’t see any dust on the car. Perhaps it couldn’t stick or the anti-static was doing its job as well.
Rating: 10 out 10
Another top score? Yep this was an easy score. This is my number one favourite quick detailer for now, I never thought I would say after using the Meguiar’s Ultimate Detailer. I had just bought another bottle of Megs ultimate detailer before I found out about this product, I have to say that I regret that prior purchase now. That’s how much I like this product.
Ease of use –
Goes on like water and buffs straight off to a shine removing all sorts of dirt and grime. No rubbing it in, no rubbing it off. This is a genuine (gentle) wipe on and wipe off.
Finish –
A water like depth and a more even reflection. Longevity will need to be proven. But, as this is so easy to use and apply to get top results, if it last a couple of weeks then that will do for me.
Conclusion:
I always use a quick detailer at car shows and they can vary drastically from brand to brand. I liked DoDo Juice Tropical red mist, but I have found it reacts with Meguiar’s Ultimate wax (my preferred choice of hard wax), but it leaves streaks. However a couple of applications later the streaks go and then leaves a nice finish. I shouldn’t need to do it twice though. I love Meguiar’s Ultimate Quick Detailer, which takes a little buffing to get the best results. So I wanted the ease of application of DoDo and the universal results of the Megs product.
This product is so easy to use and gives immaculate results. The consequence of which means that this product will now replace the Megs quick detailer that I carry in my car show case bags.
The school of thought here could be ‘Natural Vs Synthetic’ argument for these type of products. But, as this is a manufactured product for a specific reason it does what it’s supposed to do, and does it exceptionally well.
So I changed my mind from the excellent Megs product to this product now, so will anything better it? I doubt it, but I said that about the Megs product too.
Would I recommend it? Without question, yes 100%
Would I buy it again? Yes Without a single thought, so should you!
