What You Get:

A dark bottle with no spray top. This is a generic thread and pretty much any spray bottle top will fit, just make sure the pick up tube is long enough to the bottom of the bottle.
Product Description:
This is a light touch product wiping of light dust and finger prints etc. IT’s not designed to be a total car cleaner like the Shelby Ceramic Waterless Wash which I reviewed here.
This is designed to be a quick wipe over ready for a car show or removing fresh bird crap or similar.
Instructions:
Instructions from CSL
Preparation: Thoroughly wash and dry the vehicle.
Application: Spray the product directly onto a clean, folded microfiber cloth or mist lightly onto the surface.
Wipe: Gently wipe the surface in long, sweeping motions, working one panel at a time.
Buff: Use a separate, dry microfiber cloth to immediately buff the residue for a high-gloss finish.
This is where I’m a little confused with the instructions or market for this product: “Thoroughly wash and Dry vehicle”, If you are going to do that what is the point of the ‘Quick Detailer’? Other quick detailer products will clean lightly dirty cars without having to wash first. This type of product isn’t a waterless wash, it’s a top up product to be used in between washes to keep the car clean. If not then where does this product intend to be?
Testing Environment:
Slightly overcast with the odd outbreak of sunshine. Cool ambient temperature.
Application:
The spray was one of my own and applied a nice spray which is required for not to much application, very watery product and will run if over applied directly to the panel. You are supposed to spray onto the microfibre and then wipe the surface.
Removing:
A wipe over with the pre-applied cloth was simple enough and removed some light dust from the back of the car upper rear quarters which did the job well enough.
Like the Ceramic Waterless Wash there was effort to remove the product to a good shine. There was an element of drag while cleaning and if using a heavy cloth 600gsm it was pulling some lint onto the panel. Using a shorter pile cloth was more effective at creating a nice shine.
The hood here after the waterless wash showing product marks left over on the left. I used this quick detailer and eventually the detailing process removed the Waterless product as shown on the right.
Around the front of the car there were some marks (water spots) under the headlights, on the left below. I applied a couple of applications of quick detailer and then buffed so he marks came out eventually.
The quick detailer was applied over the rest of the vehicle for continuity. Later in the that day again the rain came down. But, the beading was consistent.
Results:
Mixed, not as quick as it could be.
I could see some respectable results and cleaned the panels as I expected it to perform. During application there was some drag while applying the product. Buffing required some effort compared to other ‘quick detailer’ products. This could be the fact that the black paint on my Honda shows every little mark. Stick with the detailing process and the results are satisfactory with a good shine.
Rating: 7 out 10
The drag and product ‘residue’ left behind requires work to remove and not a ‘quick’ detail as some other products offer on the market.
The results are pretty good once buffed which does leave a nice shine. If a trigger was provided then I think this could have sneaked in to the ‘8’ mark depending how good the trigger would be. Having to supply your own trigger is a cost that bumps this product up above some competitors price ranges for very similar products with less effort. Due to the price range I expect ease of use to be better to be honest.
Not the glossiest of finishes I have produced, but certainly not the worst.
Ease of use – 6
Finish – 8
Conclusion:
Firstly I’m not sure why you have to wash and dry the car before using this product, it defeats the point of a ‘top up’ quick detailer. It seems to me that the ‘Ceramic’ ingredient of this product isn’t as well defined as other products which don’t leave the product or ‘residue’ that needs to be buffed out. As this is the first time I have used a ceramic (silicon based) product I much prefer the ease and look of carnauba products. The cloth is quite crucial to the application and the buffing. Experimentation of cloth type could speed things up a little.
I don’t understand why no spray trigger is provided with the bottle, especially as the instructions state “Spray the product directly onto a clean, folded microfiber cloth”.
With those niggles out the way, the product did what was expected. The Ceramic expectation of the product didn’t blow me away especially as the ‘Ceramic’ (silicon) is made out to be a big thing on the product.
The upside is that this product will provide a level of ceramic coating directly applied to the car, how long it lasts for is to be seen. The same could be said for Shelby’s ‘Ceramic infused shampoo’ which would eliminate the need for this product entirely.
If you’re willing to put the work in to get the results it’s worth it.
But for the price point and effort this one isn’t for me.
Would I recommend it? No
Would I buy it again? No
