The one millionth car built at Flat Rock Assembly Plant
The Ford Mustang turned 49 today 17th April 2013, with the one millionth muscle car rolling off the car’s assembly line at Ford’s Flat Rock Assembly Plant. Entering its 50th year of production, the Mustang is currently in its fifth generation.

The millionth Mustang was a Ruby Red GT convertible, honored with a celebration at Ford’s Flat Rock Assembly Plant.
Today marked two milestones for muscle car favorite, the Ford Mustang, as the car celebrated its 49th birthday and the one millionth Mustang built at Ford’s Flat Rock Assembly Plant rolled off the line.
The kick-off to the brand’s 50th year of continuous production was held at the Flat Rock plant, which only started building Mustangs at the start of the vehicle’s fifth generation in 2004.
