What You Get:
The power bank, charger, cable, clamps and instructions. The power bank is supplied with its own hard case which saves you a good £30 to £40 for a hard case from some other manufacturers of similar power banks. The case is a double zip design with a fabric like feel, which you should be able to wipe clean. The case should also protect the power bank from a drop at trunk height.

The power bank itself is a sturdy well made plastic casing and is quite heavy. The clamps are also very heavy almost as much as the power bank itself.

The dimensions for the power bank are 10″ L x 4″ W x 2.75″ D.

Product Description:
The JUMPSURGE3000 is a portable jump starter that delivers 3,000 peak amps for jump starting a 12V lead-acid battery in seconds. It supports quick and safe starts for 12V cars, boats, motorcycles, ATVs, lawnmowers, caravans, tractors, trucks, etc., with up to 9.0-liter gasoline or 7.0-liter diesel engines. It is able to jump start the batteries 45 times on a single charge. It also functions as a power bank to quickly charge electronic devices like phones and tablets, or supply power to DC devices.

The power bank has many connections which immediately has an advantage over many competitors out there. The top of the unit shows a charge level or 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% which glow blue when the power button is pressed to tell the status of the held charge. The two buttons are a ‘Power’ and a ‘Boost’ which are press down from the top to micro switch with a positive feel.

There is a branded carry handle on the top of the unit and also a couple of neat ideas on the back of the case. There is a retractable metal hook as well as a pull out metal back stand.

Each corner of the unit has a rubber protection. These corner bumpers also function as the covers for the various input and outputs of the power bank. The covers are attached at the sides which allows the covers to be pulled back to expose the fittings. The bumpers are thick and have a good closure to seal the areas when not in use.
The main power connection for the clamps is top left with a clear ‘Engine Start’ stamped on the cover. The battery jump cables can only be fitted in one direction.

To charge the power bank there is a supplied charger which is a USB A output. The connecting cable is a male USB A to male USB C fitting. The same cable can then be reversed to power auxiliary devices. Other manufacturers may not supply the charger, so that is a nice touch on this package. Everything you need is supplied to get you going.

In the opposite bottom right corner of the unit is the power The ‘I/O’ ‘In’ charge port rating for 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 15V/3A. The ‘Out’ rating is 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 15V/3A, 20V/2.25A. Next to the ‘I/O’ is a USB A which is a 5v/2A rating.

The right top side of the power bank is for the circular DC out with a Max 16.8V 10A. Next to that is the Second USB A port rated as 5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A.

The ‘Boost’ button is to force the maximum output of the battery pack into a dead car battery.
The status indicator will turn green when the power bank is ready to operate and connected correctly.
Instructions:
A mini booklet is supplied with multiple language chapters. Not much to say about the unit as its so simple to operate.

The cables are heavy, almost as heavy as the power bank itself. The interesting thing to note here is the black clamp cable is slightly shorter than the red. This allows the black to fit inside the red handles and make for a neat flat storage. The springs for the jaws are strong and will hold the clamps firmly to the battery’s terminals without slipping off. The clamps are made for a heavy gauge copper. The overhang of the plastic case for the clamps should prevent accidental touching. There are no exposed wires on the clamps.

The storage for the cable(s) is in the top part of the case. The elasticated netting is a little low and when you open the top they tend to fall out. But you just need to hold the divider up to prevent that.

There is a bottom hinged divider for the cables and the power bank.
The LED lights are behind a plastic lens which are activated buy holding the power button ‘On’, pressing again will cycle Flashlight, Strobe, SOS, and Power Off. The lights are the brightest I have seen on any power bank. It would have been nice to be able to dim in stages via the light cycle. Sometimes you don’t need such a strong light source. However its better to have than not.

Testing Environment:
In the garage charging my phone and a torch. The power bank charged up a phone and the torch without dropping from the 100%, granted they were both fairly well topped up. So it was just to make sure the power was being output from the power bank.
Application:
The initial charging of the power bank took about an hour as it wasn’t on the full 100% but showed the 75% so it could have been 85 or even 90% capacity.
Note: Unable to test the jump start capability as I write this.
Results:
It works. The buttons perform as they should do, the lights work and the power bank is responsive.
Rating:
This will have to be a provisional or caveat rating with an update to follow once a jump start has been performed or it has been in storage for a few months.
Functionality: 9 out 10
I will have to give this just about a 9 as the full function is untested so it can never be a 10. The case netting could be better to prevent the cables spilling out when you open the the case. The rating is on the quality of the build and components that came with the overall package.
Conclusion:
It appears to be well made. Feedback from the buttons are positive when pressing to activate. There are seven safety features for the power bank, not as many as another brand.
The very positive side to this power bank is that it has way more charging out facilities and the various charging in options. It’s also cheaper than the other top brand I had and also comes with a hard case.
You need to remember that this unit is double the power at a max of 3000A compared to the other brand (which was more expensive) with only Max of 1500A. Even if this power bank is down on the rated max amps, it will still be much more than the max rated of the other brand I have, if that makes sense. I’m quite confident that this will spin over my V8 without any problems as its only a 4.7 litre. The rating for this power bank is to turn over a whopping 9 litre engine which is almost double my engine capacity.
The following responses are based on the fact it will work when I use it:
Would I recommend it? Yes
Would I buy it again? Yes
Update:
Once a period of time has taken place or managed to jump a car I will update this with a maybe revised review rating.
