Hood Catch Restoration

Removal

This was a real simple job, two bolts on the top to the frame and a single bolt down the leg of the support. Before I knew it, it was off. The whole thing is basically made up of four sections. The mechanical part, the top plate, a cover plate and a vertical support leg.

Treatment

This was done via the POR15 system that I have used before. This needs good protection as its gets well used by operation as well as the elements getting into moveable parts. These pictures were taken after the first coat of POR15 paint.

Second coat of the POR 15 Rust Treatment has been applied.

Completed and re-assembled Hood Catch.

Unfortunately the Black gloss paint makes it difficult to get a decent picture, But the catch is now smooth and and very black.
