A dark coloured bottle containing 500ml product, with no trigger, I’m not sure why some of this range of products does not come with a trigger, but it’s a consideration when making the purchase. Yes, you can decant into another bottle or buy some triggers. Perhaps it’s an eco thing, if so they could make more of a point about it. I have a selection of triggers that I kept from other products, so I was able to simply screw one onto the bottle that I liked and get going.

How to Use Shelby Glass Cleaner: (from Shelby CSL)

Apply Shelby Glass Cleaner
Spray Shelby Glass Cleaner directly onto the glass surface, covering it evenly. Be generous with the amount of cleaner used, especially for heavily soiled areas.

Wipe Clean
Using a clean microfiber cloth, wipe the glass surface in a circular motion, starting from the top and working your way down. This motion helps to ensure an even distribution of the cleaner and prevents streaking.

Buff for Shine
For an extra sparkling finish, buff the glass surface with a dry microfiber cloth or paper towel after wiping away the cleaner. This step removes any remaining residue and enhances the shine.

Repeat if Necessary
For stubborn stains or heavily soiled areas, repeat the process as needed until the desired level of cleanliness is achieved.

Note: The instructions mention ‘microfibre cloth’, this could cause problems if you try to use a high plush or deep ‘nap’ cloth as lint could be left on the glass during cleaning. I seriously recommend a specific glass cleaning cloth which is smooth and my personal preference (below left), specific glass microfibre that has a short nap (below middle) or a waffle weave cloth (below right)

Slightly overcast with the odd outbreak of sunshine. Cool ambient temperature.

Spray onto dry glass and wipe in a single direction to remove the dirt and marks. Here is the front and rear glass which were quite dirty. Right side clearly shows the wiper sweeps where the dirt is left behind.

TIP: If you clean both sides of glass, work up and down on one side, then on the side of the glass, clean side to side. If you have streaks or marks left after cleaning, the direction of the marks or streaks will show which side of the glass needs additional work.

Spraying the liquid was easy as I’m using an adjustable nice quality spray nozzle for an even coverage. The smell is not a disguised smell like many market offerings. The smell is fairly pungent, although the sales pitch says “non-ammonia-based solution“, this smells very much like ammonia to me! I could be wrong and and another element or ingredient is used which smells just like it.

Removing the product was easily spread and quickly cleaned the glass. Any product left on the glass quickly evaporated, or you could simply find another clean part to remove the excess.

Buffing to a shine was effortless and gave great results with minimal effort.

The next rain shower wasn’t long after the clean, these are the result of the rain beading from the glass.

I used this product on the headlights and quickly removed some insect debris to leave a clean and clear surface.

Impressive!

The glass was cleaned and didn’t need as second attempt to clean. However, I’m sure it will clean stubborn marks with a second application if it’s that bad. On my cleaning test, nothing was left behind.

It does have to be said that glass cleaning is an acquired technique to get good consistent results. Type of cloths, clean cloths, the even application and removal or product etc. A good quality product will certainly help with obtaining good results.

Cleaning was simple, dirt was lifted of the glass quickly and dried with no streaks inside and outside the glass. Buffing did indeed give a nice shine to the glass. The results are up there with some other big well established brand names.

A great product. I almost gave this a 10 out 10 to be honest. But, the lack of trigger spray and price point I would expect this to be ready to use.

Ease of use – 10

Finish – 10

This product is priced at the high end of the detailing market. The product did the job very well with little to no effort and sometimes the extra price is worth it for that little effort used. Consider any additional cost for a trigger, but if you can decant into another spray bottle and look past this little detail then all is good.

Then there is the smell, it does smell like ammonia to me, not that I want to get sued, perhaps they have used something that smells just like it. The smell doesn’t last long at all in the open air, but it does the job.

I didn’t have to use much product to get a good clean so it does make it a little more economical, than using a cheap product but a lot of it.

Would I recommend it? Yes.

Would I buy it again? Yes, it needs to be on an offer though.
